Chicago Firefighters encountered frozen fire hydrants in the Bronzeville neighborhood, as they battled an apartment fire overnight.

The fire began in the basement unit of an eight-unit apartment building  at 4008-4010 S. Calumet Avenue.

There were no working smoke detectors in the building, but all of the residents were able to escape unharmed.

At least one family was displaced.

Firefighters used water from two fire trucks to extinguish the blaze.

No word on what caused that fire.
