Suspect in Aldi armed robbery caught on surveillance video

Police are searching for a male suspect who committed an armed robbery at an Aldi in Lisle, Ill.

Police say at about 2:30 p.m. Monday,  man entered the store, located at 5525 Route 53, and attempted to take cash from an open cash drawer.

When the cashier attempted to close the drawer, the suspect displayed a silver/grey large framed handgun. After removing cash from the drawer, the suspect left the store and was followed on foot to a silver/grey, four-door sedan, which he used to flee the scene eastbound on Maple Avenue.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male between the age of 20 and 30 years old. He’s about 5’8″ and 160 pounds and was wearing a black, possibly “Hurly” baseball style hat.
