15-pound baby might be biggest in California
An expectant mother knew her son would be on the big side, but she asked the doctor to double-check the scale when they told her how much he weighed.
Andrew Cervantez was born last week at 24 inches long and weighing 15 pounds, 2 ounces.
His mother said she thought the scale was broken.
Andrew was born via C-section at a hospital near Los Angeles, and everyone is doing well.
Andrew is believed to be the biggest baby ever born in California.
The world record is a 23-pound child born in Canada in 1879.
