The Chicago National Weather Service Forecast Office has issued a Winter Storm Advisory for 3 to 5 inches of snow Saturday for the Chicago area’s western and southernmost counties from until 9 p.m. Saturday.
The advisory area generally runs along the south line from Dixon, Ill., southeast to Fowler, Ind., and includes the following counties: Lee, LaSalle, Grundy, Livingston, Kankakee, Iroquois, Ford, Lee, and DeKalb Counties in Illinois, and Benton, Newton and Jasper Counties in Indiana.
North of that line including most of the counties closer to Chicago all the way north to the Illinois-Wisconsin state line, snowfall totals are initially expected to very gradually taper off the farther north you go with 1 to 2 inches forecast along the Illinois-Wisconsin state line.
