Two women and a man were shot as the vehicle they were traveling in exited the Dan Ryan Expressway early this morning, according to Illinois State Police.
According to police, a blue 2008 Buick SUV, broke down on I-94 southbound exit ramp to 71st Street.
While the Buick was awaiting help, a black Dodge Charger with orange stripes pulled up just before 1:30 a.m. and began to shoot inside the Buick before fleeing the scene.
Police say there were four passengers in the Buick.
The male driver of the Buick was shot four times, a woman in the back seat was shot six times, and another woman in the back seat was shot three times.
A fourth passenger inside the car was not harmed.
Police say one of the women shot is pregnant.
The man and one woman were taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and the other woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The victims are all expected to survive.
Police do not believe the shooting was a random act.
I-94 southbound exit ramp to 71st St continues to be shut down at this time, but should reopen within the next hour.
