JohnGrantA Tinley Park man who used a Taser on his wife after a Monday Night Football bet pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct charges stemming from the incident.

John M. Grant, 42, of Tinley Park , was fined $250 during his sentencing last week.

In November, Grant, a Chicago Bears fan, and his wife, a Green Bay Packers fan, were watching the two teams play in a Monday Night Football matchup at a bar in Mayville, Wis.

Grant had told police that they made a bet that the fan of the losing team would be tazed by the winner.

After the Bears won, the couple and their friends stepped outside the Wisconsin bar where they had just watched the game. The tasering was captured on cell phone video. Grant’s wife later called police and said she never agreed to the bet.

Both Grant and his wife had been drinking, police said.
