Body found during Chicago River search

A body presumed be that of a college student missing since early Monday was recovered in the Chicago River Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Lauren Li was a senior and honor student at the University of Minnesota.

She and a male friend fell into the water while trying to help another friend who dropped his cell phone, and fell in while reaching for it.

One of the men died, and the other was released earlier Wednesday from Presence St. Joseph Hospital, spokeswoman Linda O’Dwyer told the Chicago Tribune.
