Grandmother asking for custody of children who survived house fire

The grandmother of two children who survived a house fire in Hammond wants to care for them.

Sarah Pittman will appear in court tomorrow trying to gain custody of Isaiah and Evan Young.

They are 2 and 7-years-old.

She says the boys were put in foster care after their release from a hospital last week.

The children’s’ father rescued them and is hospitalized with third degree burns.

He was not able to save his three other children: Jayden, Alexia and Dasani.
