Amtrak train headed to Chicago derails near Wood River

An Amtrak train headed to Chicago derailed near Wood River, Illinois.

A spokesperson says the ‘low-speed incident’ occurred while the train was switching tracks just before 8 a.m. Thursday, near Rudder Street in Wood River.

There were 106 passengers on board at the time of the derailment, and they have all been loaded on buses and continuing to Chicago.

No injuries have been reported.
