Even with Wednesday’s predicted 10-degree increase over the single digit daytime highs observed Tuesday, the afternoon high around 12-degrees will still fall nearly 20-degrees short of the normal high of 31-degrees.

Readings are to ratchet higher each of the coming three days, moving above freezing by Friday and as high as the upper 30s on Sunday—likely to be the mildest of the coming 7 days.

A high of 38-degrees—which is what’s being predicted Sunday—would represent a 54-degree increase over the record-breaking low temperature of 16-below at O’Hare as the week began Monday.
