The storms that passed through Chicago are now on the East Coast, leaving thousands of travelers stranded at airports nationwide.

One couple has been stranded at O’Hare just trying to get to Buffalo, New York.

Dianne Guaglia and her husband have had no way out. This will now be their second night sleeping at Terminal 3 of O’Hare Airport.

But that hasn’t even been the most difficult part.  Their 29-year-old son died in his sleep Saturday and they are trying to make it to Buffalo to plan his funeral.

All they can do is sit and wait and pray that their 2 p.m. stand by flight will make it out Wednesday.  For now, they call corner in the terminal home.  Because the cancellations are weather related, it means airlines don’t pay for hotels.

WGN’s Lourdes Duarte spoke with them at O’Hare.
