Extreme cold puts another freeze on flights

Chicago’s deep freeze triggered flight cancellations at the city’s airports for a third straight day.

Airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights Tuesday at O’Hare Aiport.   Average delays lasted about 20 minutes.

At Midway Aiport, 180 flights were canceled. Chicago Aviation Dept. officials report a handful of delays averaging 45 minutes.
