Drivers will face treacherous road conditions as the winter storm is predicted to dump almost a foot of snow in Chicago.
More than 280 snow plows are out on the streets. They plan to clear the main streets first then the side streets.
Blowing winds make it difficult for both drivers and city snow trucks because of decreased visibility.
The city will focus on clearing Lake Shore Drive and other main streets, then snow plows will shift to the side streets after the snow has stopped and main streets are clear. The roads are slick, with a combination of slushy snow and ice.
Snow trucks can be tracked on the City of Chicago’s website: Plow Tracker
