Jeweler denies refunds for New Year’s day snow

The owner of a North Suburban jewelry store will not give back $150,000 in refunds to his customers.

PK Bennett jewelers promised refunds to customers who made purchases between black Friday and Christmas eve, only if more than three inches of snow fell at O’hare Airport between midnight and noon on New Year’s day.

The official reading at O’hare was two inches.

More than 200 people bought Christmas jewelry at PK Bennett Jewelers.

The store took out a special insurance policy for the promotion.

Funny I am not far from O’Hare and I had way more than 3 inches by that time. Listen people if it sounds too good to be true…I hope this guy goes out of business now.

But the meteorologist at the airport has a different figure. Funny how people want to ignore facts to get something for “free”. Just look at Obama care

I am more appalled at the way WGN titled the story! They made it sound like he is reneging on his offer. It should read "Jeweler will not be giving refunds etc. etc. I am soooo glad I do not live in Illinois any more. What a laughing stock of the country it has become!!

Attention ignorant knuckleheads…they paid for an insurance policy which would have paid out the refunds if the snow totals would have been enough in the designated time period at O'Hare. There is absolutely NO motivation for this company to "cheat" the customers. They wouldn't be paying it, the insurance company would. Enough with the downright stupid and in some cases tea-party moronic posts.
