Snowy roads a hazard in Chicago’s northern suburbs
The north and northwest suburbs got the worst of the first snow of 2014.
In some areas, 6 inches has already fallen.
So, the salt trucks and snow plows are being kept busy, and drivers are allowing extra time, as they navigate some treacherous road conditions in many places.
If you’re walking, remember: Since most local businesses are closed for New Year’s Day, they’re not shoveling their sidewalks. So you may have to walk in the street.
