3 injured in high rise fire on South Side

Three people, including a firefighter, were sent to the hospital tonight after a fire broke out in a high rise on Chicago’s South Side.

Fire crews responded to 32nd and King Dr around 8 tonight.

There were reports of a fire in the laundry room.

Some residents had to be evacuated while the fire was put out.

The fire dept says a man and a woman, both in their 70s were taken to the hospital in fair condition. A firefighter was also taken in good condition to the hospital.
