The Chicago National Weather Service snowfall forecast has been updated – the Winter Weather Advisory now calls for 4 to 8 inches of snow over much of the Chicago area tonight and Wednesday.

Most Chicago-area observation points are reporting snow with the exception of locations far south of Interstate-80. Visibilities reported are generally ¾ mile to a mile. Waukegan had moderate snow with ½ mile visibility.

With temperatures hovering between 10 and 14-degrees, and steady snow – moderate at times – snow is accumulating and roads will become slick during the late afternoon-evening commute. Motorists should be aware of this developing situation, as the snow will continue to fall at this rate into the evening and overnight hours.
