A New Year’s Eve in for some; free rides from CTA, police for others
Not even the threat of a foot of snow and wind chills in the single digits will stop those who are determined to have a big party tonight.
Preparations for the first New Year’s Eve part for the 3-year-old JW Marriot Hotel began months ago. The hotel expects 1000 people, two DJs , a band filling two ballrooms.
Others though opted to stay home tonight. The Mariano’s on the northwest side was jam packed all day with people getting ready for a more intimate party.
And if you’re in the Palos Park area and feeling like you can’t drive home, you can call the police and they’ll pick you up, and not take you to jail. Even the chief is making his personal cell phone public to anyone who needs a ride
For a ride call the Palos Park police directly at 708-448-2191 or call Chief Miller’s cell directly at 708-259-1035.
