A pregnant teenage girl died this morning after being  found shot last night in Dolton, police said.

Police say the 17-year-old Eva Casara was approximately 5 months pregnant from nearby Calumet City and was shot one time in back of the head.  Police found her between two condo buildings in the 1100 block of 152nd St around 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police had reports of gun shots all over the area last night and investigators believe Cassara may have been lying between the condos for up to 40 minutes.

She survived long enough at the hospital for doctors to deliver her baby girl who weighs just 1 pound 5 ounces and is in critical condition.

Police say they have some solid leads  and even some surveillance video from a tenant in the condo building to investigate.

Cassara’s family says she left Christmas Day with some friends and was expected  home that night.  They have no idea what brought the teen to Dalton yesterday or who would want to hurt their little girl.
