3 family members critically injured in hit-and-run

Two parents and their adult son were seriously hurt by a hit and run driver in West Rogers Park.

They were hit while crossing Devon Avenue at Maplewood to get in their car after visiting friends in the area.

Police are looking for a black Toyota Avalon which was being driven by a man.

A family member tells us the 68 year old father suffered a broken vertebrae and foot.

The 49-year-old mother broke her pelvis and injured a knee.

The 28-year-old son broke a collarbone and was undergoing tests to see if he had other injuries.

But doctors say all three victims are expected to pull through.

The incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

There have been at least two other fatal accidents in the area since last year.

    At night people have to be very careful crossing the street. A lot of times there is poor visibility and pedestrians using dark clothes adds to the problem. In addition some pedestrians take their sweet time crossing when in fact They should be moving fast because They don't what kind of maniac is driving the oncoming car. This driver ought to turn himself in after He sobers up.
