Families of CPD shooting victims urge federal investigation

The families of two people shot to death by Chicago police officers are calling for a federal investigation into the cases.

Jamaal Moore, 23, was shot twice in the back by police in December, 2012 on 55th and Ashland after a police chase.

His family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit that goes to trial in March.

In the other case, 17- year-old Christian Green was shot – also in back – on the 4th of July of this year while walking with friends near 56th and State.

Green’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit Wednesday.

The mothers and their attorneys say neither victim had a weapon when they were shot.

They want U.S. Attorney Zachary Fardon to fully investigate the matter.

They questioned whether the Chicago Police Department is capable of properly investigating their own.

They say the U.S. attorney’s office could provide more objective information.

The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled both deaths a homicide.

Must be nice to have time to file lawsuits and not have to work.

Here are some answers for his family. Jamaal was a convicted felon with more than 12 arrests for felonies. His last mistake was to be physically fighting two Chicago Police officers who were trying to arrest him for an armed robbery which had just taken place. Jamaal fought with and knocked down the male officer twice before charging at the female officer who dropped him. A violent crowd had surrounded the two officers and were throwing rocks and other items at the police. It sounds like these officers did extraordinary work and should be commended.

It seems like the family didn't want that to come into view. According to them he was probably a good boy that never did wrong.

I double checked and they did not mention any of that in their performance. I did like the mamma trying her best to get choked up.

Yes, and he was a lifelong resident of Cook County except when he was a guest of the state in various facilities. He was trying to turn his life around.

Where are the comments for the man that spent 30 years behind bars for a crime for he did not commit. Chicago is the most racist city in america. John Burge gets 4 years for with a 100k pension for fasley accuseing over 30 people and counting only in chicago. This is one of many reasons why america is cursed. Watch the weather
