Hidden camera video claims animals abuse
An animal rights group is releasing hidden-camera video which claims to show animal abuse at a dairy farm in Wisconsin.
The Wiese Brothers Farms in Greenleaf, Wisconsin supplies cheese for DiGiorno frozen pizzas, which is owned by the Nestle company based in Chicago.
Mercy For Animals shot the video which shows cows being beaten, kicked and dragged by a tractor.
A spokeswoman for Nestle responded to the accusations saying the company buys cheese from Foremost Farms which gets milk from the Wiese Brothers’ Farm. “We do expect all of our suppliers and their suppliers to meet our stringent guidelines,” says Deborah Cross, Division & Brand Affairs Manager, Nestlé Pizza. “We have advised Foremost Farms that we will not accept any cheese made with milk from the Wiese Brothers Farm.”
Wiese Brother Farms also issued a statment which reads in part… “we are shocked and saddened to see a few of our employees not following our farm’s policies for proper animal care. We have zero tolerance for animal abuse.”
