Salvation Army bell ringer accused of stealing money

Bond was set at $40,000 for a Salvation Army bell ringer accused of stealing more than a $1,000 in donations.

Last week, a woman reported losing her wallet at the grocery store in Naperville where Joe Horton worked.

Prosecutors say Horton had the woman’s wallet and tried to use her credit cards.

An investigation found Horton had also taken money from the donation kettle.
