Operation Santa aims to make Christmas wishes come true
Chicago’s main post office says it’s already received more than three thousand letters for its popular “Operation Santa” program.
And it’s looking for generous people to help needy families.
The postal service sets aside letters to Santa from children and parents alike.
Some of them are heartbreaking – families in crisis who can’t afford holiday gifts.
Volunteers take the letters and make the families’ Christmas wishes come true.
Today is the official kickoff of this year’s Operation Santa.
You can pick up letters at the main post office at 433 West Harrison, through December 22nd.
