Gurnee police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 64-year-old woman.
Anne Stroll was last seen by a neighbor as she headed out on her blue Trek bicycle yesterday afternoon.
By the time her husband came home from the doctor an hour later, the worry of where she might be began to sink in.
Her husband says he hasn’t slept, as the search for his wife enters a second day.
“She’s just the most wonderful person I’ve ever met in my life,” Michael Stroll said.
She did not take her ID nor her credit cards, just her cell phone, which Gurnee police say is somewhere in nearby Independence Park.
“It’s very unusual that somebody would leave all true belongings at home and leave a note saying they’re going for a bike ride and then just never come back,” said Commander William Meyer.
Search crews with dogs, even a chopper with an infrared camera have come up empty.
“It’s never happened before. Annie has absolutely no psychological problems she’s solid as a rock,” Michael told WGN News. “She’s my best friend.”
Anne Stroll is 64, 5’8″, 120 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a red bandana and riding a blue trek bicycle.
