Controversial billboard rejected in Times Square now in Chicago

New York’s Times Square is known for its eye-catching billboard, but there’s one sign that you won’t see in Times Square, and the reason why, is causing controversy.

The ad by Snore Stop shows a solider and a Muslim woman with the phrase, “be together.”

Snore Stop sells anti-snoring sprays and pills. The company says the idea behind its ads is that its products can keep any couple together.

But media company Clear Channel wasn’t on board with the concept and rejected the sign.

Clear Channel says it turned down the billboard because of its “sensitive nature” and “uncomfortable imagery.”

The billboard is now up in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.

The whole "all you need is love" notion is based upon interaction with rational people.

When you are dealing with people who would willingly blow themselves up in order to inflict carnage on innocent people any person with an ounce of brains would stay away as far as possible.

You can label me with a PC term ending in "ist" or "phobe" but you can also call me alive and living in peace.

Clearly the creative team(aka: graphic artists, art director, copywriters and copy director) were taken out of the equation here. They could have come up with a more clever approach. Apparently an over zealous marketing team or business exec got this "idea" and had to see it through. It lacks creativity. It's just unfortunate that they will not see it that way because it is getting tons of media coverage. So they will think they went with a great marketing strategy. Next time give the creative team a chance.

The spokeswoman for the company said in an interview that they purposefully tried to create controversy for the sake of creating controversy, not to promote a product. If your ad doesn't promote anything, then you are pushing a personal agenda with company money. Either way, will people run out and by this crap? Probably not.

Clear Channel has a history of not only racism and homophobia, but antisemitism and ageism.
    Google them, you'll see.
(And you'll also see who's campaigns they contributed to.)

If she did that in the Middle East, she would be killed by her father or brothers in an honor killing for taking up with the infidel. She would also be targeted by the Taliban.
