Wells Street Bridge officially reopens

The Wells Street Bridge is open after being closed for a year for reconstruction, just in time for morning rush.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined transportation officials for the opening.

The bridge underwent complete rehabilitation at the cost of $42.1 million.

The last time the bridge was updated was in 1922.

The project required CTA to halt Brown and Purple Line trains for about three weeks.
