Man, 25, shot to death in McDonald’s parking lot

A 25 year-old man was fatally shot Monday night in a McDonald’s restaurant parking lot in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the 4900 block of North Lincoln Avenue in the parking lot that serves the restaurant, a hardware store and a bowling alley, police said.

Police were on the scene of the shooting where the victim was found in a dark blue BMW vehicle parked in the lot with its lights on, according to witnesses.

A police source said the man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his head. He may have been shot in a drug deal gone awry, according to sources, citing preliminary information.

Officials with the Cook County medical examiner’s office were notified about the incident but could not provide any details.

The shooter fled in a tan Nissan vehicle, according to the sources.

In a separate shooting, a 28-year-old man was shot in the hand on the 7200 block of South Halsted Street in the Englewood neighborhood, officials said.

The man was able to take himself to St. Bernard Hospital where he was in good condition, officials said.
