Grandfather shot and killed; Police seeking suspects
Chicago police are searching for a killer on the West Side tonight after a grandfather was shot and killed overnight Wednesday.
53-year-old Michael Sullivan was on his way to work, walking the few blocks from home to the Pulaski Green Line stop, when someone took his life in what appears to be a botched robbery attempt.
A nearby surveillance camera may offer some valuable images of Sullivan’s final moments.
His family, just hoping whoever killed him is caught.
“I need my dad back. I want my dad back,” said his daughter Latoya Griffin. “If there is anything that anybody can do right now for me, it’s give me my dad back.”
Sullivan was known as a family man and a hard worker. He’d had the same job for 32 years at the UPS shop on the near West Side and was looking forward to retirement.
“I want justice so I can have peace. If I don’t get justice, I will never have peace. I will never be able to get over this. I cannot put my father in the ground not knowing who his killer is,” Latoya said.
