Texas man shot near Mag Mile without realizing it

Police are looking for the gunman who shot a man from Texas near Water Tower Place.

The 48-year-old victim was shot while sitting in his car in the 100 block of East Superior Street, around 11 p.m. Saturday.

The man told officers he heard the rear window of his rented 2014 Jeep Patriot shatter.

He thought someone knocked it out, and fled.

The man drove himself to the Residence Inn in the 200 block of East Walton Street, where he had the hotel valet park his car.

He said he didn’t realize he’d been shot, until he got to his room.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, with wounds to his chest and shoulder.
