Chicago Police are looking into claims that sexually explicit photos may have been electronically circulated among students at a Catholic high school on the South Side.
Authorities are investigating if a male student at Hales Franciscan High School in the Bronzeville neighborhood took photos of himself, and a female who may also attend the school. School leaders learned about the photos a few weeks ago, discussed the matter, and disciplined the students involved.
The school didn’t believe the accusations rose to a criminal matter.
They contacted police once the Department of Children and Family Services launched its own investigation.
Chicago police say they need more information from the school, including the name of the victim.
The school insists it gave police everything.A group of parents are supporting the school.
“Life is filled all kind of things. We just want to make sure that this stays the same.
We talk about, to our children every day, about everything that happens in this school. We’re here to support the institution and the administration,” said parent Marcus Wolfe.
