City Christmas tree headed to Daley Plaza
The City of Chicago celebrates a milestone this year when it holds its 100th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
This year’s tree is a 57-foot Colorado blue spruce donated by the Moore family of South Holland.
The city picked the tree from submissions all over the city and suburbs.
The spruce came right from the Moore’s front lawn.
Workers cut down the tree Thursday morning and will take it to Daley Plaza.
The tree lightning is set for Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 5 pm.
