Many people in the wedding industry are optimistic that more same-sex weddings will bring new customers to their doors.

Wedding planners, photographers and venues in the Chicago area are expecting a bigger boost in business.

In response to passage of the same sex marriage bill, the Illinois Office of Tourism is adding a special tab on the front page of their website titled LGBT Travel.

A study on the economic impact of same sex marriage in Illinois estimates about 6,000 couples who are not already in civil unions will get married in the state in the next three years. According to the study those marriages will inject at least $53 million new dollars

Governor Quinn praised the passage of same sex marriage earlier today and says he plans to sign the bill soon.
