Zumba for the smaller set with ‘Zumbini’
Zumba was launched back in 2001 designed to take the work out of the workout. An estimated 14million people experience the fast paced dance classes weekly. And now the company is targeting a much smaller audience.
Zumbini is a brand new program mixing early childhood education with a little Zumba flare.
1.10 when we started with this idea we thought well.. we wanted children to come out of the womb and Ashlee Cramer is the creative director of Zumbini. The class is designed with the 0-3-year-old in mind. The 45 minute session is a combination of songs, movement, instruments, bonding and social growth.
Instructors say Zumbini is not a fitness class but hope it will get kids interested in a healthy and active lifestyle early in life.
The Lakeview YMCA is one of the first locations in Chicago offering Zumbini .
