Jesse Jackson Jr. has paid back some of the $750,000 in fines that he owes.
Court records show Jackson gave the U.S. Marshals service a check for $200,000 on October 25.
He reported to a federal prison camp in North Carolina four days later.
The former congressman is serving a two-and-a-half year prison term after admitting to illegally using campaign money.
Sandi Jackson will serve a 12-month sentence after her husband is released.
