Jackson Jr. spends first night in North Carolina prison
Former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. just spent his first night in prison.
Jackson was admitted into prison in Butner, North Carolina, but it took two tries to do so.
The first time happened Monday when Jackson was dropped off by his attorney.
That’s four days before he was supposed to show up.
His attorney says a problem with some paperwork held things up, so he had to be brought back Tuesday morning.
Jackson is now serving his 30-month sentence for using campaign money for personal use.
After his release, his wife Sandi, will begin serving her one-year sentence for tax evasion.
