BBB warns of fake Affordable Care Act websites, scams
The Better Business Bureau warns computer hackers are creating phony Affordable Care Act websites and asking for consumers’ personal information, such as Social Security and bank account numbers.
To make sure you have the accurate site, the bureau says don’t use a Google search for help. Go directly to Healthcare.gov, which can lead you to websites owned by individual states.
Also, check for a digital certificate and ignore unsolicited phone calls or Emails.
