Boy, 15, fatally shot at Halloween party in Zion

Police in far north suburban Zion are interviewing guests at a weekend party where gunfire erupted, killing a 15-year-old high school student and wounding a woman.

Adarius Green had just moved back to the Chicago area from Texas and enrolled at Zion-Benton Township High School this fall.

He attended the party Saturday night in the 2400 block of Gilboa Avenue, just down the street from the Zion police station.

Witnesses say as many as 200 people were squeezed into the house when a fight began and shots were fired, sending partygoers spilling into the street.

Police have no suspects in custody and no clear motive.

Grief counselors are available to students at the school.

The 26-year-old woman injured by the shots was treated at a hospital and released.

Don't get too worked up. Zion isn't all that nice a suburb. It's already gone to the dogs.

Common sense would make you realize a party with 200 peole crammed into a house has the potential for disaster. Know who you party with!

Zion has its bad and good areas. And Zion police don't do nothing when they see crowds or these kids making all this noise all hours of the night. I think Zion police are just scared to even get out of the square car. I blame the police.

While everyone is adding in their negative comments, I still have a young child to bury. Does anyone care about that? Please help support my family, we are need of help with funeral/memorial expenses. My son deserves a proper burial. We have two memorial funds set up in his name The Adarius Green Memorial Fund one at Great Lakes Credit Union and GiveForward.com. No donation is too big or too small please support! #deeworld
