German scientists say they may have developed a surgery free way to treat cataract patients.

Proteins in the eye designed to help change focus, can clump as a person ages leading to cataracts.

Doctors have discovered yet another protein whose job is to keep the lens clear.

They say in the lab they were able to activate that protective protein, clearing the lens and preventing cataract formation.
