Community alert issued following Lincoln Park robberies

Police have issued a community alert after a string of burglaries on the near North Side.

According to authorities, homes and businesses in Old Town and Lincoln park have experienced an increase in burglaries this month. Burglars pried open front doors and removed money from cash registers.

The most recent incidents happened between October 15th and 18th in the 400 block of West North Avenue, and in the 200 block of West Evergreen Avenue.

Two local homes were also burglarized. All of the he incidents took place overnight or in the early evening.

    We live nearby and reported an attempted break-in which was captured on video. When we called police, they had no interest in reviewing the video which shows the face of the intruder.

      Police don't care about the public some of them are crooks. The only person that can protect you is you so arm yourself and hand hope for the best when you are not home. because this is just the beginning of a economy falling apart. Crooks will go where the money is and the perception of lincoln park is money and naive people.

      Post it to YouTube. Include commentary about the lack of interest Chicago PD displayed. Let the entire world know what a CRAPPY police department we have and how their idiot leader (McCarthy) is just as pathetic…
