Chicagoland may get its first taste of wintry precipitation so far this season today.
A fast moving system is forecast travel out of Iowa and across central and northern Illinois.
Clouds will increase this morning ahead of the system and a chance for a few showers arrives by midday.
As temperatures drop this afternoon scattered showers may also contain some wet, slushy snowflakes.
The best chance for precipitation is expected south of I-80.
Temperatures across the region are expected to top out in the mid to upper 40s.
