Disney ‘Treasures’ on display at MSI
MSI is honoring one of Chicago’s very own in their latest exhibit.
Walter Elias Disney was born here in Chicago in 1901 on the second floor of a home on Tripp Ave. His family moved to Missouri and later back to the Windy City where at McKinley High School he focused on drawing and photography.
His early life and beginnings are the focus of the new Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives being featured at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Exhibit designer David Woody placed Disney’s real life work desk at the center piece of the show – highlighting what hard work could accomplish.
Also on display, costumes from box office bonanza’s and busy minds of kids can also build Disney castles, quizz themselves on movie trivia and attend animation academy – learning how to draw like a Disney creator.
