3 dead after garbage truck and car collide in fiery crash

Three people were killed when their car was crushed by a garbage truck.

The crash happened at Harrison and Harlem in Glenview Tuesday afternoon.

A witness says a Kia ran a stop sign, before it was hit by a Village of Skokie garbage truck. The car flipped over and got pinned underneath.

Both vehicles burst into flames.

A man, his wife, and another woman were inside the car and died.

No one in the garbage truck was injured.

Police did not issue any tickets.

    On garbage truck crash , reporter comments a few time , sounds like “whew””at least the driver is dead”

      I didn't notice anything like that. It just looks like an ugly, tragic crash that was preventable
      to me.
