Showers and a few thunderstorms are moving east northeast across Illinois and Wisconsin Tuesday morning.
A center of low pressure will lift across southern Minnesota into northern Wisconsin today as it’s associated cold front pushes east across the Mississippi river into Illinois.
By this evening, the cold front should be moving through the Chicago area, headed east.
As southerly winds carry higher dew point (50s into the lower 60s) air into Illinois and the Chicago area, stronger thunderstorms could develop along and just ahead of the front by mid to late afternoon with local downpours and strong gusty winds in some of the stronger storms.
