Charges filed after woman’s body found in a forest preserve

A man from Humboldt Park is being charged with killing the mother of his child and hiding her body in a plastic container.

The victim was identified this morning as 20 year-old Jasmin Salas, of the 800 block of North Richmont Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Salas was five months pregnant with another man’s child when she was murdered.

Police say 19 year old Justino Correa stabbed her to death during an argument, put her body in a garbage bag and placed it in a plastic container before leaving it in a forest preserve. The remains were found Thursday night in Thatcher Woods in west suburban River Forest.

According to prosecutors, before he hid his pregnant ex-girlfriend’s dead body, Correa watched television with their 4-year-old daughter and took her to school Thursday morning.

Salas’s family says she’d been fighting Correa in court for the last two years over custody of their four-year old daughter.

Didn't work for Conrado Juarez in the Baby Hope case either. I love it when these sick murderers get what's coming to them.

Its sad what happened to this woman. Its even sadder that the news people dont even tell the same story. The people who really knew her know the story better than what’s being told be the papers. I am not protecting this walking piece of crap but the truth is the truth. It should never be changed to make the story teller look good for what they think is the truth.
