Apartment building evacuated after roof collapse in Edgewater Beach

60 people in Edgewater Beach were evacuated from an apartment building, after its roof collapsed.

Firefighters said part of the roof caved in Friday, in the 5900 block of North Kenmore Avenue.

No injuries were reported.

While a cause of the collapse is still being investigated, a preliminary report suggests the building’s contractor, whose crew was doing some sort of roof repair, may have put a load of materials all in one place, overloading the roof.

I'm going to guess the building took the lowest bid and the contractor has no insurance or bonding.
