Court was cancelled this morning for a Chicago woman involved in an international custody battle over her 5-year-old son.
Jack Redmond’s mother, Mary Redmond, is from the United States.
His father is from Ireland.
Jack was born in the Chicago area and lived in Ireland for a short time.
After Jack’s parents split up, his mother moved with him back to Illinois.
His father filed for custody in an Irish court and won.
Jack is now with his father.
The Irish judge found Mary in contempt of court for violating an order to move back to Ireland along with her son.
Jack’s mother was scheduled to appear at the Dirksen Federal building this morning to ask a judge to write the order that would bring jack back to the U.S.
