An electronics store in Mount Prospect is on the verge of a collapse prompting police to shut down traffic in the westbound lanes of Northwest Highway.
The collapse first started Tuesday afternoon at Tri-State Electronics.
An employee reportedly heard a loud crack, before water began leaking from the roof.
Officials say a wooden support under the roof snapped and ended up breaking a water line.
Everyone inside the building was evacuated.
The building sits right next to northwest highway.
Officials have reduced the westbound lane to one lane in case the roof fully caves in.
