Immigration organizations and religious leaders are planning a mass march to federal plaza tomorrow and next week.
The Sun-times reports that the groups are marching in order to pressure congress to vote on a comprehensive immigration bill.
The announcement comes after an immigration hearing organized by Chicago Alderman Danny Solis was held in city hall Thursday.
Solis is calling on Congress and President Obama to put a stop to deportations.
Immigrants living in Chicago also expressed their frustration, saying deportation breaks up their families.
Saturday’s march will begin at Union Park, and head to the Federal Building at noon.
Over 80 cities across the country will participate in immigration marches tomorrow.
