CTA announces plans to upgrade underground wireless service
The city plans to upgrade wireless service on the CTA’s underground subway system.
The CTA announced plans Wednesday to bring 4G wireless service to the Blue and Red Lines.
Officials say it will give people faster and more reliable service while underground.
The CTA currently leases its subway cellular network to six major wireless providers.
Officials will work with wireless companies to finalize the design, financing and installation of the new wireless services.
